A Program of Healing

Grief to Grace is an integrated healing process of the body, mind, and spirit. Created by Dr. Theresa Burke it combines a comprehensive understanding of medical and psychological principles with trauma-informed care. It helps those who have endured abuse to find healing for neglect, abandonment, and physical, emotional, sexual, clerical, and spiritual abuse, whether in childhood, adolescence, or as an adult.

Since 2005, Grief to Grace has helped those who have experienced abuse to find reconciliation and healing.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” - Psalm 34:18

Our Journey

Discover patterns of trauma response through multiple exercises. This healing process combines Living Scripture meditations, journaling, group activities, therapeutic facilitation, cognitive restructuring, and grief work. The retreat setting offers an intensive experience that goes beyond regular consultations.

No one shares more than they wish to share, and no one is pressured into doing anything that feels unsafe

  • Our somatic approach is crucial to effective healing. A variety of different exercises help you identify patterns of response to trauma.

  • Our team consists of mental health professionals, a spiritual director, and dedicated volunteers. We create a safe and confidential environment where you can let go of shame and secrecy.

We support you in your journey toward reclaiming true human dignity as a child of God.

  • In a group setting you will find YOU ARE NOT ALONE. You will be encouraged and supported by one another.

  • Confidentiality is our utmost priority. At our retreat, we ensure a secure, safe and confidential environment for all attendees. Your personal information, experiences, and stories will be treated with the utmost respect and privacy. You can trust that your confidentiality will be maintained throughout your healing journey with us.

  • We understand that survivors face ongoing challenges beyond the initial trauma. We help participants confront distorted beliefs and behaviors, offering a chance to correct them. By acknowledging and grieving past losses, we pave the way for a new future, allowing our true selves to emerge from the shadows of grief and anger.

There is help. There is healing

“Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.”

— St. Thomas Moore
